Policies/Procedures

Holding Period

We have a holding period of 3 days. If owner comes forward within those 3 days, owner must show proof of registration and/or vet records to prove ownership of said cat. If cat is not claimed after 3 days, they are vetted and become available for adoption.

Claiming Cat After Holding Period

If the 3 day holding period has passed, you can still claim your cat by doing the following:

1. Pay for any vet costs we have paid. If we did not spay/neuter your cat during the time we had them, we will schedule an appointment for them to be fixed and you will be able to pick them up from their appointment and pay for that cost.

2. Pay for room and board for the amount of days we have had cat. This fee is $7.00/day.

3. Show proof of registration and/or vet records. If you have neither of these documents, you must register your cat at the City Hall with the vet records we give you before picking up your cat.

Neglect of Cat

If for any reason we suspect the cat has been neglected and/or abused and you do not have proof of registration, we do not have to surrender the cat back to said owner.
